Science - Cells

Science - cell

In science we learnt about cells, things like their structure and functions of the organelles, and living and non-living!

Living and non-living things? - Living things have cells while non-living has none, living things breathe, grow, and move and consume foods which are all key traits to what makes something Living, Non-Living things cant do these things, take a car for example, sure it can move and it requires food but it cant grow therefore it is a non-living, now take a Human for example, is it Non-Living Or Living? Of course it would fall under the living category because it has all the traits of a living things, it breathes, grows, and consumes foods, and can move!

Cell structure? - You many think cells are all just circle but in fact the cell that resides in the plants are squared like this -

Notice how the plant cell is very squared while the animal cell is circle! Also you can see that in the plant cell the Vacuole is much bigger than in the animal cell, though sometimes the Vacuole almost never shows in the animal cell!

Functions of cell parts?
Nucleus - This is the control centre, it controls all activity in the cell
Cytoplasm - Jelly like substance that fills the cell holding the rest of the organelles
Cell membrane - This controls what comes in and what goes out
Cell wall - Hold the cells shape and strengthens it
Mitochondria - Energy of the cell
Chloroplast - Absorbs light for photosynthesis
